The ASDD Story
Hey everyone. My name is Marcy Dawn "Butterfly" Schmitt. I'm the creator and owner of A Sparkling Dawn Design. I live in sunny Pensacola, FL where I enjoy the simple things, and live the beach life along with my awesome hubby who I've been with since 1996.
I'm first and foremost a lover and follower of Jesus, who gets all the glory, honor, and praise in all things. I would be nothing, and would have nothing without Him.
In my spare time when I'm not creating pieces of jewelry, I spend a lot of time at the beach, paddle boarding on The Gulf Of Mexico. There's just something about sitting on my paddle board that both calms and inspires me. It's the place where my mind seems to be the clearest, and where I can be free to brainstorm new ideas.
Ever since I can remember I've been all about arts and crafts, and about using my imagination to create things. My mom instilled that trait inside of me at a very young age. She taught me to always be creative in whatever form possible. So I decided to be creative with one of my most favorite things in the world, which is jewelry.
I began learning jewelry making techniques and designing my own accessories in the year 2000, and then created A Sparkling Dawn Design in 2013. I've always been the type of person to follow my dreams, and to try everything at least once no matter what the cost. I live my life with no regrets, and to the fullest each and every day. When I fail at something, I just get back up, dust myself off, and try again.
My design style is a whole lot of vintage mixed with a bohemian flare. I'm inspired mostly by old, timeless, rustic items. Walking around flea markets and antique stores is where I get a lot of my inspiration.
I specifically love it when my designs can make people smile. I've personally found that sometimes all we need to make ourselves feel better, are some accessories to go with that messy bun, no makeup kind-of-day.
